Welcome to Gwent Army Cadet Force

Please explore the site by using the navigation buttons on the left of your screen.

The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a United Kingdom voluntary youth organisation for boys and girls and is sponsored by the Army. Every ACF Unit is linked to a Regiment or Corps of the Regular or Reserve Army.

In Gwent, located in the South East corner of Wales, we have over 23 groups, called platoons, covering the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Newport, administered by a Headquarters based at Raglan Barracks in Newport.

There's never a dull moment in the Army Cadet Force. With others of a similar age to yourself, both boys and girls aged 12 - 18, you will have a chance to take part in a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities - from rugby to rock climbing, map reading to mountain biking. All activities are conducted under the supervision of expert instructors.

In addition to the sports and adventurous training activities, your initiative, leadership and ability to accept responsibility will be developed through military training. You will learn how to drill - which is made fun - how to wear your uniform correctly and smartly, how to navigate using a map and compass and how to survive in the field.

You can contact us by email at gwentacf@tiscali.co.uk or telephone 01633 242644.
