What are the times for pick ups on the AT day the 17th please?

LCpl Burn - these things take time you just need to be patient, there are alot of us waiting for stuff and we need to take in to consideration how many cadets there is in the whole of the acf.

Hi all, alot of you probably wont remember me as its been a while since i left (4years)!!!

But for those of you that do, thought i'd just drop a line and let you know I've been promoted in the TA.

Can we please have some more information about when our first aid badges are coming. Its been over four months and they still haven't come.

Just a reminder that Pontypool Detachment re-opens tonight at 1900hrs. Hope to see some familiar faces and some new ones!

I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the shooting weekend on the 9th as I have a boxing weekend which I need to attend.

All Activities this weekend are cancelled apart from Mons Coy's Weekend.

Any adult available to drive this weekend is to contact County HQ by Midday today.

Thanks to all the instructors and Gurner for his help on the mil skills weekend. Gurner was an awesome help to me.

Incoming Outgoing RSMIs - Neil, finally released from your "3" year post as RSMI, thank the lord! Well done on your time in the job. You are a well respected and hard working member of Gwent ACF and I would like to wish you all the best for the future.
Mike, from all the old school, well done. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to think you were the right man to take over from Neil. I know you'll do a great job. All the best to you and the mess.

Due to unavoidable circumstances the 2 / 3 star Exped planned 2 - 5 May has had to be cancelled. Details of 2 / 3 star expeds will be issued in the near future.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the mil skills weekend. It was a good experience for everyone and for the new cadets. Well done to Blackwood for coming 1st and also well done to Swffryd for coming 2nd. Thanks to the adults who organised the weekend it was a good opportunity for us all to revise our subjects and to see all our friends.

Captain Davies - just a quick note to let you know, if im down for any weekends in the next couple of weeks i am unable to attend. I have just come out of hospital after having key hole surgery to have my appendix out. It should take 4 - 6 weeks to heal. I have spoken to the hospital and they said by the time camps is here i should be back to my full self so i am able to go. I will pop up to the detachment as soon as a can to drop up my deposit and forms.

Well done to everybody who participated in the Salamanca Mil Skills weekend, you all worked extremely hard which resulted in excellent scores for all teams. Thank you to all my Blackwood cadets who participated on various teams, including our own, you all showed fantastic team working skills and a high level of knowledge in all subjects covered, and made me very proud! Of course congratulations to Blackwood and Swffryd and keep up the hard work!

Congratulations to Blackwood detachment on winning the mil skills and also to Swyffryd on coming second well done to all :D, It was a good weekend, I think many of us enjoyed it.

Well done to everyone that participated in the Salamanca Mil-Skills competition this weekend, there were few points between all of the teams so competition was pretty close. Well done to Swfrydd on coming second, with only a few points separating them from the overall winners. Well done to those that were in Blackwoods team, we all worked well together. Thanks to all the instructors that made this weekend possible.

CONGRATULATIONS to Blackwood on winning the Salamanca Mil Skills and a big well done to Swfrydd on coming second. Thanks Maj John for a brilliant weekend, I think we all enjoyed it.

RSM Edmunds - We have been waiting for out first aid badges for a long time now, when will they be sent? Also when will the first aid training start?

To a very dear friend, Mr Cliffy Jenkins. You were a true gent to one and all, cadets and instructors of Gwent ACF. Never sir, just Cliff. Nothing was too much, just a smile and help. I hope the good lord needs a good RQMS, sleep in peace my friend from Phil and Michelle.

A very dear friend and colleague Cliffy who I have had the privilege of working with for the past 25 years with in the TA and Gwent ACF.
You were a true friend, you was always there for me in the TA and cadets. You were loved as the RQMS as we could get anything from you as long as we said please and thank you at the end of it. You gave me a row once when I called you Sir. "My name is Cliff not Sir! I have known you too long Martin for you to call me sir."
Well sir, my dear old friend, sleep tight old friend till we meet again, Martin.

The funeral for RQMS Jenkins is on Thursday 1st May 1445 hours at St Mary's Church, Abergavenny.

Thank you SMI Parker and Major Davies for promoting me, I'm very proud of it.

I have been privileged to have known Cliffy since he joined Gwent ACF and he was a true Gentleman. Nothing was to much trouble for him and he was always willing to help anyone. On a number of occassions at Annual Camps and having been invited into the Sgts Mess, it was always Cliffy who would be there to greet you with a smile and his engaging sense of humour. Cliffy it has been a privilege to have known and served with you as a member of Gwent ACF and you will be sadly missed by all who knew you. You will always be in my thoughts, sleep in Peace.

On joining Gwent ACF one of the first people I met was WOII (RQMS) Cliffy Jenkins. Straight away his hand went out and I was greeted with that big smile he always wore. Cliffy was a character that you instantly took to, warm and generous. At the time of joining, I remember Cliffy being the acting RMSI of the County. After taking over the post myself, I recall one evening standing at the bar in the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess and Cliffy asking would you like a drink sir? to which I obviously replied yes please! Boy was that one of my biggest mistakes, the man had hollow legs. Cliffy was a very loyal member of the mess, and could always be found in his favourite position - at the end of the bar. He always enjoyed the art of conversation and made everyone feel relaxed and at home. He was a true Gentleman a gift that only few possessed. Cliffy will be greatly missed, and I had the great pleasure of being able to call him a friend. Until we meet again old chum.

I am so sad to here about Cliffy Jenkins as he will never be forgotten in Gwent, he will sadly missed by cadet and adults. The cadets will miss him doing their naafi and the adults for being a good laugh in the mess will miss you sir without a doubt.

Farewell to a dear colleague and friend. Having worked with Cliffy for nearly 18 years in his roll as RQMS he has always been a true gentleman and a professional.
He always made sure that the uniforms for cadets were ready on time and if you had a problem with a particular item of equipment if he did not have it in the store he would go out of his way to make sure he got it for you.
As a member of the sergeants mess he always went out of his way to ensure that all new adults were made welcome .
During the 18 years that I have known Cliffy he has never had a bad word to say about anybody and I cannot remember anytime during the last 18 years him losing his temper or raising his voice to anyone.
You will be sadly missed and will always be in the thoughts of Sue and myself always .

RQMS Jenkins, You will be sadly missed by adults and cadets, you were always there for us all. RIP

RQMS JENKINS you was on all the camps I have been on always running the NAAFI for us, without any doubt you will be greatly missed. R.I.P

Farewell my friend you have always been there when Adults and Cadets needed you. They know they could approach you with any problem and you would try hard to help them. Like Morcombe and Wise the 2 Cliffy's together were a common site. You were softly spoken and kind to all who came in contact with you, nothing was to much trouble for you and we all appreciated that. You were always a true gentleman and never spoke ill of anyone. You will be missed greatly by me and all the other Adults who knew you. Goodbye old Friend. Baz

RQMS Jenkins - You will be greatly missed, always smiling and always there for a chat. You have left so many good memories in peoples hearts. Never to be forgotten.

RQMS Cliffy Jenkins - Very sad day for Gwent ACF. The RQ has been there for Gwent ACF for as long as I can remember. All of the adults always appreciated what he did for us. You were guaranteed to be helped if he could and you would always be greeted with a smile, respect, and a welcoming approach. A good man, and a great loss. God bless you Cliffy.

Maj Brinkworth - as I am currently not parading due to the problems at detatchment, would it be possable for you to send me the info for the exped weekend next month? SSI Griffiths said that I am down to attend and I really want to go on it and get that out of the way. Thanks.
